Okay. That title sounds like the old joke: “News Bulletin: A common household product may be killing you as you watch this television. That story, and film, at 11…Now, back to a very special episode of ‘The Golden Girls’...”
But more and more recent studies suggest that sitting for long periods each day is killing you.
Stated more accurately: evidence is piling up, like paperwork on a 1st year associate’s desk, that sitting too much increases the odds that you’ll die sooner…even if you exercise regularly. Slate Magazine’s Future Tense blog weighed in on the subject last Friday with some facts, hints, and a clever little video (below).
All of which makes us wonder: If document-related chores cause lawyers to be among the most sedentary of all professional, and if Brightleaf helps those lawyers draft, negotiate, revise, analyze and abstract documents much faster, then maybe we’re actually saving lawyer lives?
Bit of a stretch perhaps. But even so, look for our Zumba-style workout infomercials soon.
